The Conduct Committee is seeking 5 more additional members. It is currently composed of 6 people and we act as an independent group of volunteers for the GVIAS Board.
All interested individuals are invited to email [email protected] to express their interest by August 5th, 2022. This can be a brief note expressing your interest in applying for the Conduct Committee. An online application will be sent to you after the August 5th deadline.
We recommend that all interested individuals read our About Us page (https://gvias.org/conduct/about-the-conduct-committee/) before you email us with your interest.
The Conduct Committee is here to provide a compassionate investigation process to address conduct concerns raised by community members (including concerns raised about members of the GVIAS Board and Conduct Committee). We will handle issues that are highly sensitive and also of great concern to our community as a whole.
Conduct Committee members will work in pairs (assigned by the Committee Leads) to interview those involved in a reported incident and provide an anonymized summary to the rest of the Conduct Committee. The Committee meets at least once a month to organize, make decisions on finalized reports and prepare reports for the Board of Directors.
Anyone who works on the committee will be expected to maintain strict confidentiality and silence regarding matters brought before the committee including but not limited to private communications and final reports to the Board. You will need to sign a statement of Confidentiality pursuant to this understanding.
Thank you for your interest in the well-being of our community.
