Leadership Opportunities

GVIAS is looking for leaders – both new and experienced – to help run our events and the organization! Committees now run year-round, while event-specific committees are activated specifically in preparation for our events.

We’re excited to introduce our new leadership survey, designed to make the application process more transparent and inclusive. The survey was built to help applicants easily showcase their talents and passions. Our revised vetting process also seeks to protect our members, all while determining best fit and opportunities for growth.

NOTE: that the Conduct Committee operates independently from this process for recruitment. Please see the About the Conduct Committee info page for details.

Board Member

Members of the Board are elected positions, representing the interests of the community as a whole. Each appointment is a two year term, which can be extended up to three 2-year terms. The election process happens during the annual early spring society AGM, to which all members are invited.

All board seats are effectively members-at-large, accountable to the membership. Seats are not tied to executive positions, which are chosen annually, though board members are encouraged to pursue executive positions that interest them.
