The Conduct Committee is seeking new members for the coming year. It is currently composed of 6 people and we act as an independent group of volunteers to the GVIAS Board.
All interested individuals are invited to email [email protected] to express your interest by June 18, 2020. This letter can be a simple letter expressing your interest in applying for the Conduct Committee and an online application will be sent to you shortly after the June 18th deadline.
GVIAS members can also nominate someone that they feel would be a good fit for this role. Please confirm that they are interested and ask for consent to share their email address with us so we can send them an application.
We recommend that all interested individuals read our About Us page before you email us with your interest or nominations.
In short, we are here to provide a compassionate investigation process to address conduct concerns raised by community members (including concerns raised about members of the GVIAS Board or Conduct Committee). We will handle issues that are highly sensitive and also of great concern to our community as a whole.
Conduct Committee members will work in pairs (assigned by the Committee Leads) to interview those involved in a reported incident and provide an anonymized summary to the rest of the Conduct Committee. The Committee will meet at least once a month to organize, make decisions on finalized reports and prepare recommendation reports for the Board of Directors.
Anyone who works on the committee will be expected to maintain strict confidentiality and silence regarding matters brought before the committee including, but not limited to private communications and final recommendations to the Board. You will need to sign a statement of Confidentiality pursuant to this understanding.
Thank you so much for your participation and interest in the well-being of our community!
From the Conduct Committee
