| We have sad news to share – Dustcovery will not be taking place this year. Unfortunately, despite a LOT of searching and seeking, our intrepid Dustcovery producers weren’t able to secure a venue that was available in our required timeframe and met our needs by the “go/no go” date. We’re absolutely gutted that it won’t be able to happen this year, but we want to let the community know as far in advance as we can as we know some folks travel to attend. If you have solid suggestions or leads on venues in or around the Lower Mainland that may be appropriate for future GVIAS events, please share them with GVIAS’s Board! We’re always on the look-out for potential venues for our events, a never-ending battle in our region! Here’s what we’re looking for in venues: Available on weekend (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon for set-up and tear-down) (IN November for Dustcovery)Capacity of 500-1000Space for two stages, or one main stage plus a silent discoAbility to manage our own tickets / doorOutdoor area that is (or can be) fenced inOn-site powerAble to operate until 1am or laterAbility to bring in food trucks OR provide our own food offeringsHave their own bar, or allow us to host a bar1 hour or less drive from Vancouver, and transit-able would be awesomeChecking all these boxes would be amazing, but we’re flexible for the right venue! We know options in the Lower Mainland are limited and one venue might not have everything (like no outdoor space, or slightly smaller capacity). Got a lead on a venue for future GVIAS events?
