RECHARGE 2019: Imaginarium: A Portal To All Realities

Our annual spring crowd-fundraising event is fast approaching! Recharge brings together artists and their ideas with the Greater Vancouver community for support, collaboration and funding. Last year, over $7700 was raised for 18 art projects for burner events. Help bring the visions of our talented community to life – all the while dancing the night away, enjoying an awesome DJ lineup! The event will be held at the Croatian Cultural Centre from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am on Saturday, February 16th.

Recharge artist applications are still open through Feb 3rd: http://recharge.gvias.org/art-projects/application/

Tickets are still on sale at: http://recharge.gvias.org/tickets

 LAUNCH OF THE CONDUCT COMMITTEE

In late 2017, GVIAS began plans for a Conduct Committee, to look into incidents that potentially violate the community Code of Conduct, to make our events safer for all participants. In early 2018, the Conduct Committee formed and spent the rest of the year working with the Board and the community – first to update the GVIAS Code of Conduct, then to develop a process for reported incidents.

The Conduct Committee has been busy with meetings, training and holding community town halls. One challenge encountered was that the more we learned, the more apparent it became that there was no way to be perfectly prepared for every situation. The Committee is now ready to begin accepting reports from the community.

On February 18, 2019, we will release an online form that can be used to submit reports directly to the Conduct Committee. We will also publish more details to the GVIAS website, along with answers to questions about our process for handling reports.
